Scotch Pine (Pinus sylvestris)

Primarily grown for Christmas trees, this Ohio pine has been balled and burlaped with moderate success. Has medium blue-green needles and scalelike bark that turns orange as it matures. Useful in mass plantings, distorted specimens, natural settings. Growth and habitat very irregular and unpredictable.
